What is your current role?
I work for Network Rail’s National Delivery Service (widely known as NDS) and my job is Planning Manager – NR Services Access. I have responsibility for all Network Trains Access onto the network and into the timetable, including the development of operating policy for these types of trains. The role also promotes these services to the wider industry.
How long have you been a member of the IRO and at what grade?
I have been an active affiliate member since the Institution was formed and have just been “signed up” as a full member.
Why join the IRO?
I joined the IRO because I believe it will help me expand my network of railway contacts and help promote Network Rail services. It will certainly help me to grow my knowledge of the railway industry and keep up to date with industry developments. The IRO also presents opportunities to share my knowledge with others.
Are you involved in any Continuous Professional Development with the IRO? If so, what?

Future plans/activities with the IRO?
I currently act as a champion for the IRO in Network Rail’s new Milton Keynes office - an activity I share with Aaron Gallavan. I have in the past given presentations for the Midlands and North West branches of the IRO, helping to raise the profile of Network Rail services and I intend to continue with these activities.
