Welcome
On behalf of the North East Area Council, I would like to welcome you to our dedicated page. Please take a few minutes to look at the other parts of the area page, which I hope you find both interesting and useful. We always appreciate feedback, so if you have any comments or questions then please let me know.
Our area, and of course, that means your area, is an active one, with events held every two months, often on the second Tuesday of the month. If our events are at a time when it is not suitable for you to attend, please let us know - we may be able to assist. Details of this years events’ can be found on the IRO website and in ‘Railnews’ and ‘Rail Professional.’ We are also keen to see events directly linked into the modules being studied as part of the education courses offered by the IRO, which will help support students in their studies. If you are a student in our area, we would welcome you at our events, or if you wish to have a chat about your studies, please do get in touch.
If you’ve never been to one of our events and would like to do so, please get in touch with one of our Council members, who will arrange to meet you and show you round. Equally, if you are a member who does attend our events, why not bring a colleague along? Even better, encourage them to join the IRO and they can enjoy the same benefits you do from the institution.
