The North West Area Council has arranged the following events programme for 2010:
- Thursday 9th Sep: Visit to John Lennon Airport (1800hrs) - Meet at Liverpool South Parkway Station (time t.b.c.) for Shuttle Bus to Airport. Members interested in attending should contact Tom Cox at thomascox1@sky.com as places for this event are limited.
- 16th – 18th Sept: Visit to Ireland looking at it's railway operations. This is a very limited attendee event and will require a deposit ahead of the event. Anyone interested, full details can be obtained from Thomas Cox, IRO NW Treasurer at thomascox1@sky.com

Roadshows
The IRO has launched a programme of ‘Roadshows’, aimed at strengthening relations between the centre, the IRO’s seven Area Councils and their respective members and allowing colleagues the opportunity to question members of the IRO’s senior management team, led by Chief Executive Chris Daughton. The ‘Roadshows’ also provide clarity regarding the IRO’s key aims and objectives moving forward, ensuring commonality and helping promote the benefits of membership and the Professional Development Programme as it adapts and evolves.
The North West played host to the Roadshow programme in March, with a special thank you to all those who attended, joining Chris Daughton, IRO North West Area Council Chair Clive Evans and IRO Board Members Chris Leah and Tom Birch for useful discussions about the future direction of the Institution, with excellent feedback received and a number of recommendations already actively implemented.
