ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are minimum qualifications necessary to enter this course. Where these qualifications are not held, alternative routes to admission can be considered.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES TO ADMISSION:

Non-Standard Qualifications:

Glasgow Caledonian University will consider non-standard qualifications or Recognition of Prior Learning as equivalent to minimum entry qualifications as long as you can supply evidence.

Other qualifications, experience or evidence of prior learning may be accepted for admission if these demonstrate to the university that the applicant possesses appropriate knowledge and skill equivalent to the specified entrance requirements, or can be deemed to have a reasonable expectation of fulfilling the objectives of the programme.

Prior Learning Process:

The University will consider admission to an appropriate point in a programme of study with credit on the basis of prior learning and/or prior experiential learning. Such learning may be certificated or un-certificated.

Application through the Prior Learning Process may enable prospective students to gain sufficient credits to bypass a specific level of the programme,

CANDIDATES MUST DEMONSTRATE AND QUANTIFY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE, PARTICULARLY IN THE AREAS COVERED BY THE LEVEL OF THE PROGRAMME THEY WISH TO BYPASS.

This is a significant piece of work which must be completed to the satisfaction of the university before applicants can commence the course.

Direct Entry to Diploma:

Where an application is being made for direct entry to the diploma course without minimum entry requirements you may be asked to complete an RPL 1 report. To view a sample RPL1 form, please click here.

Alternatively, applicants may take the certificate course and if successful, would gain automatic entry onto the diploma course.

Direct Entry to Degree:

Where an application is being made for direct entry to the degree course without minimum entry requirements you may be asked to complete an RPL 2 and in some instances an RPL1 report. To view a sample RPL2 form, click here

Alternatively, applicants may take the diploma course and if successful, would gain automatic entry onto the diploma course.

“The final decision regarding acceptance onto any level of the programme rests with the university."
