This work based learning module will support students in developing a critical understanding of the main theories of experiential and reflective learning. It will also involve students with engaging in reflective practice as a means of reviewing and improving their own learning in the workplace. Module Syllabus

During the module students will cover:

  • Theories of knowledge
  • Theories of experiential learning
  • Theories of reflective practice
  • Models of practical implementation of reflective practice
  • Models of personal and professional development

Module Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the module students will be able to:

  1. Critically analyse and apply theories of experiential learning and reflective practice for improving own practice
  2. Produce an analysis of current and required personal and professional skills relevant for own work role
  3. Plan, design and develop a personal and professional development plan
  4. Demonstrate skills and knowledge required for development within a professional and academic environment
