WELCOME TO THE YOUNG RAILWAY PROFESSIONALS
"To endorse Institution organised events which seek to inspire professionals and encourage networking."
Young Railway ProfessionalsThe Young Railway Professionals have come to together through the younger members' sections of the Rail Engineers Forum (REF), which is comprised of the Institution of Railway Operators (IRO), Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE), Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) and Permanent Way Institution (PWI).
It is our aim to inspire young professionals to see the wider rail industry and understand the deeper perspective on their role within the railway. We also hope to assist young professionals to network and build up links across the industry, benefiting your career in the long-term.
What are we doing together:
- Joint combined calendar, where all members can pick and choose events, conferences and speeches from across the railway spectrum.
- Joint international visits, where costs can be kept down and greater international contacts can be accessed through the increased diversity. The first international trip was a three day event in Munich in November 2009.
- Combined social and networking events – including our annual Black Tie Dinner, where members can come together and celebrate the past years achievements and look ahead to the challenges ahead.
